Muscat of Spina: One of the most important varieties cultivated for centuries in Greece and abroad, as well. This particular clone of Moschato is a small-berry treasure that gets its name from the community of Spina, located in the prefecture of Chania. The variety is maybe famous for the grape’s powerful aroma but the thin skin of Moschato Spinas imparts a delicate character to the wine, which results in an excellent dry wine and charming dry blends.

Vidiano: Old, native, with a fine aroma, the most remarkable white variety of the Cretan vineyard with special roots from Rethymno which also participated in the preparation of the Cretan sweet Malvasia wine. This is a very interesting variety of wine with fine aroma, bright pale yellow-green colour, balanced flavour while at the same time it allows interesting experiments in the use of the barrel. In recent years, the shift in the projection/promotion of old, forgotten varieties gave great boost to the cultivation of this particular variety, resulting in being now found in large areas of vineyards and to be fairly characterized as the white "diva" of Crete.

Bright pale yellow-green colour. Complex aroma of flowers, like rose and jasmine, as well as fruity aroma complete the bouquet of the wine. Its fruity flavor as well as the balanced acidity can be distincted in the mouth. The aftertaste is long and persistent.

  •    It is served at 7οC-9OC and accompanies seafood and salads.

Klados Winery

The Klados Winery is a small family business, that was started in 1997. The founder, Manolis Klados, is a qualified Chemist and trained master Oenologist, with 35 years experience in the industry, who pioneered wine making in the prefecture of Rethymno. He is now being succeeded by his son, Stelios, who grew up in the business and who is a graduate chemist from the University of Crete (2009) and a master Oenologist from the University of Piacenza – Italy (2014). The first winery was set up in small rented premises, located in the outskirts of the city of Rethymno, with a production capacity of 20,000 Litres/year, that grew over time. The early activity was mainly Bag-in-Box and the first serious consumer branding with bottled products started in 2002. Business grew steadily and as the existing production capacity was outgrown, the business was relocated in 2007, in purpose built family owned premises, with a capacity of 100.000 Litres/year, in the area of Panormo, 25 km east of the city of Rethymno. The new winery was equipped with modern technology, in both wine making and bottling, enabling the processing of greater volumes and higher standards of quality. The winery is surrounded by our new organic vineyard, planted with the famous Rethymnian white grape variety of ''Vidiano''. We are a boutique winery and strive to make superior quality wines, that would intrigue our demanding consumers with their complex aromas, attractive colours and great tastes. We are vinifying, the better known local red varieties of Liatiko, Kotsifali and the noble ones of, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. On whites, we are vinifying the excellent local varieties of Vidiano, Vilana, Thrapsathiri, Muscat of Spina, and the noble Sauvignon Blanc.
