An authentic terroir wine from a single vineyard from Trilofos Naoussa. The wine was named 1879 in honor of the year that the company was established in Naoussa by John Boutaris. The wine embodies the history of the family and expects to introduce the modern consumer to the complex and fascinating Xinomavro.
Visual: Deep red color
Aroma: Veryhighcomplexity with primary aromas of red berries, dried fig, tomato juice. Secondary aromas of intense ageing in oak such as vanilla, plum, roasted almonds and subtle cigar box notes
Taste: Full bodied with pleasant acidity. Soft velvet tannins that produce volume and roundness in the mouth, rich density with a warm and long aftertaste accompanied by secondary notes of cocoa and red fruit
Dishes: Red meat, game, pasta, cheese platter, chocolate souflet
