Refosco was among the first varieties that were planted in our vineyards in 2002. By now we are convinced that in our terroir this variety can give excellent results. Always aiming at producing grapes of the best possible quality we ensure low yields on our vines, no more than 5 tons/ha. These grapes will be hand-picked and strictly selected on the vine and upon arrival at the winery in order to make sure that only the best will be used for the making of Refosco. 14 months in new French oak barriques will endow the wine with a spicy complexity and great texture.
We are a small boutique winery in Thessaloniki. The vineyard is privately owned, at an altitude of 250 meters, 45 kilometers southeast of Thessaloniki in the area of Ancient Calidonia, between Chortiatis and Holomontas.We started the vineyard from scratch, in 2002, with our first production being releashed in 2009. We only produce grapes from our own organic vineyards.We are small and will remain small (30,000–40,000 bottles for all 4 of our labels).Quality is above all, and that is why we focus on small yield harvests.
We have two reds, the famous Refosco and a Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon blend (70% -30%). Our barrels are made of French oak, medium toasted, where Refosco matures in 3rd and 4th use barrels while Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon in 2nd and 3rd use. Our whites, Malaguzia and Chardonnay, are both matured in stainless steel tanks.
