It is Mavrofilero, a clone of the variety of our vineyard Filleri, the "grey variety" of the Peloponnese with its intense variability and aromatic wines. It has a bright pink color and aromas of red and citrus fruits.
Its taste is refreshing and fruity with an acidity that defines freshness and aromatic aftertaste.
From grandfather Sakis in 1960, to granddaughter Julia today, Drouva Estate, on the slopes of the hills surrounding Pyrgos of Ilia to the north, with its palm-trees, olive trees, various fruit trees, vineyards and barrels of pine, developed into a modern vineyard and winery managed by his son, Spyros and the design, standardization and distribution of wine, the principal product of the estate, was undertaken by the oenologist granddaughter. The varieties cultivated are Greek and are commonly found in the Western Peloponnese with sandy soil, Ionian air and high annual rainfall. Roditis, Fileri, Mavroudi, Agiorgitiko and Refosco, blend to complement each other and produce balanced and light wines, white, red or rosé, fresh or aged, that accompany the pleasant Greek cuisine.
